Snow!

The large drift outside the living room window.

Dad blowing snow. He is so good at it!

It was quite a thick drift!
This has been a very snowy, very COLD, winter. One of our older neighbors told us that this is a normal winter for the area. I'm not sure if that's reassuring news or not! I guess we can take some consolation in how tough we northerners are to be able to endure such a winter!! ;) ....Which reminds me of this list we read in a newspaper once (I've edited it a little) :

Top 10 GOOD things about a Midwest winter:
  1. There are no mosquitoes.
  2. People are so busy worrying about the car starting they don't have time to worry about anything else.
  3. If you carelessly leave meat in the car, it will freeze and stay fresh.
  4. It's not as bad as a Manitoba winter.
  5. There's the thrill of unexpectedly being totally out of control as your car slides down an icy road.
  6. Bundled up as they are, children can fall down three flights of stairs and not get hurt.
  7. There's ice fishing in a -50 wind chill, knowing that someone, somewhere, is flabbergasted at how hearty we are.
  8. There are no ticks.
  9. Anything is better than a humid Midwest summer.
  10. Knowing that the rest of the country is looking at us in total amazement, saying: 'Why in the world do they stay there?'
Hmmm....can you think of any others? :)
