Of Mints and Spring Rolls...

Last week we went over to help Emily make mints for her sister-in-law's wedding. They needed 1500, so we were busy! Mrs. M. and Grace came to help too, and it was fun to work together and visit.

Miss Sarah :)

Some of the finished mints.

Emily also showed us how to make Spring Rolls.
Later we all had them for lunch - so delicious!

Work Day at the Millers!

This past Saturday our family, along with several others, got together to help Mrs. Miller and her girls with spring projects.

Andy Bradrick was the foreman. He had everything organized with the supplies for each project all ready and waiting along with a list of what needed to be done at each 'station'.

Some of us girls were busy washing the siding on the garage.

A few of the men working on the porch.

There was plenty of brush to haul away and burn.

Friends and Music...

Sunday evening we had friends over for supper and games.
We had such a fun time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tuesday afternoon Mom, Ana, and I went to the nursing home in Parkers to listen to our friend play the accordion. She was accompanied by a man on the fiddle. (Apparently he used to be a well known fiddle player.) They played from memory and by ear. :)
Friends :)
Yesterday we had our good friends, the M. ladies, over for lunch and the afternoon. (The above picture of us girls is actually from a couple months ago - I completely forgot to take any pictures yesterday.) It was so good to have them over again and have time to talk!
Much planning was done for the Luncheon/shower we gave for Mrs.K. and Marcus on Saturday.
Friday evening we had a nice rain with a lovely rainbow.
~~~~~~~~~
Saturday was the luncheon/shower for Mrs. K . and her youngest son Marcus.

He is such a cute little guy!

This is a card on of the ladies had made using envelopes for the duck!

The Menu:
Cucumber/cream cheese sandwiches
Avocado/tomato sandwiches
Cilantro Pesto/tomato sandwiches
(The Firezars made the sandwiches - they were very good!)
Crackers with Jalapeno cream cheese dip
Fruit salad
Grape clusters
Double Chocolate Scones
Cupcakes

Some of the guests ate outside.

Playing games

We and the Firezar girls sang May the Mind of Christ my Savior for Mrs. K.

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.

May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.

May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.

This past week we had friends over for a ladies tea.

The table all decorated.

SwedishTea Biscuits. (These were very good!)

Coconut Macaroons

Lemon Tea Bread

Our friends brought two different kinds of tea sandwiches and shortbread,
my pictures of them turned out rather blurry (see below).
They were delicious though!

Here are the Avocado and tomato sandwiches. Yum!

Sarah's Birthday!

Thursday evening we went over to the Firezar's home for Sarah's 12th birthday. :)

The girls made 4 large pizzas with different toppings.

It looks so good!

Once they were baked, Mr. Firezar cut the pizzas....

...and we all enjoyed eating them!

We had a nice evening together with friends. :)
