The First Night and Day of Travel...Feb. 25+26....

We left for Louisiana last Wednesday evening around 8:45 pm. We've never left for a trip in the evening before, but there was supposed to be a blizzard coming our way and Dad wanted to avoid that. Thankfully we missed all the snow! We drove through the night and all the next day.....

Happy travelers. :)

Getting some sleep at a rest stop.

We saw the above derrick in Illinois ..... this picture is for Rachel K. ;)

An old barn along the freeway.

Our rental van had GPS which was fun to use and proved very helpful in the big cities.

We drove through St Louis and got to see the St Louis Archway from the freeway. That was an unexpected treat. :)

For some reason I had always thought it was over the river, not next to it.

We all liked this billboard!

South of St Louis we stopped at a rest stop and got our first glimpse of GREEN GRASS!!

Dad and me.:)

Mom took this picture of Dad and us girls.

I saw these little blue flowers along the path!

Our rental van.

We drove until about 3:30pm on Thursday and then stopped for the day at a hotel in a town called Cape Girardeau. We were tired... Before bed we played some games. Ana made up her own story for 'Mad Libs' which was fun. :)
