This past Friday evening we went to a concert by The Rochesters. That was such a treat and we enjoyed it SO much! They play and sing a sort of combination between Bluegrass and Gospel music with a little country flavor thrown in. They are from South Carolina and travel around on their bus giving concerts all across the country.
The family group is (from left to right) Mr. and Mrs. Rochester, (who are in their 70s), Becky, her husband Scott, and Ben. (His wife Linda watches the children and the CD table.)

Ben sang and played the banjo, Dobro, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and the harmonica! He was amazing. I didn't get to meet him, but I did meet his wife who was very sweet. :)

Becky sang and played the bass, while her husband played the rhythm guitar. We talked with her for a little while. She was very nice and I loved her southern accent!

The children recited several Bible verses and sang too. :)
(I'm sorry this picture isn't very clear - it's hard to get clear ones in a dimly lit church.)

Here is a clip of one of the songs they sang:
It was a wonderful evening of music and singing.

Wow!! Are they ever talented musicians. (I'm finally getting caught up on older posts--I'm sorry I didn't listen to this before!) I'm sure you enjoyed this concert. What I especially liked was watching the "elder" Rochesters! Mr. Rochester was singing his heart out, and I appreciated their lovely, classy way of dressing as they perform. Thanks for posting this!
