The Answer

Here is the answer to my "Guess what these pictures are of" posting on Tuesday:
they are detailed close ups of magnetic structures on the
Sun's surface,
(taken by the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope (SST) operated by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences).
