A new version of Jane Austen's book Emma is in the process of being filmed! This one will be a mini series so it will be longer than the previous ones. The screen play was written by Sandy Welch who also did the BBC film adaption of Elizabeth Gaskel's book North and South. (A favorite of ours, by the way!) It will be nice to have an Austen film done by someone other that Andew Davies for a change!
Romola Garai is cast as Emma (she was in Amazing Grace as William Wilberforce's wife).
She is in the middle of the above picture wearing a mustard brown pelisse. I think she will be a good Emma. :) What do you think? HERE are more pictures of the cast. The costumes are so rich in color!
